Casa del Sol Cane Corsos is owned and operated by Edward and Emily Hinojosa. I first came across the Cane Corso Italiano in a dog magazine. The pictures of this magnificent breed instantly captured my attention. Once I started to read about the breed, I could not get enough. I spent countless hours online researching the breed trying to gather as much information as I could. After discussing with my wife what it was that we wanted in a dog and what we wanted for our family, we found that the Cane Corso's qualities made it the perfect breed for us and our children. Soon, my career had my family and I moving to Italy.

Once we were settled in Italy the next thing on my mind was to find a reputable Cane Corso breeder and experience this wonderful breed first hand. After doing some research in 2006 we found that the Del Rosso Malpelo kennel, owned and operated by Simona Tanzarella, was near by. We contacted Simona and scheduled a visit. Upon arriving at Del Rosso Malpelo, we instantaneously fell in love with the breed when we were met at the door by Simona's beloved CH Simon. After speaking with Simona and interacting with some of her dogs, we agreed to wait on an upcoming litter. Three months later we were the proud owners of a stunning black Cane Corso puppy named Santana Del Rosso Malpelo.

Since then we have visited other kennels and continued our research on the breed. In the spring of 2007 we were fortunate enough to visit the famous Degli Elmi kennel, owned and operated by Patrizia and Denise Colossimo. The experience at the Degli Elmi kennels was truly captivating. While at Degli Elmi we had the honor of meeting a few of the legends in the Cane Corso world in CH Cloto, CH Yurak, and Bufera. Thank you so much to Patrizia, Denise and the Colossimo family for your hospitality and the opportunity to visit your beautiful home and experience your amazing Cane Corsos.

While in Italy, we also had the opportunity to visit the Della Corte degli Olivi kennel, owned and operated by Samuel and Lara Cusinato. They graciously hosted my family and I on several occasions at their beautiful kennel. It was from the Della Corte degli Olivi kennel in 2008 that we would get our 2nd pup, Luciana Della Corte degli Olivi. My family and I would like to take this opportunity to say THANK YOU to the Cusinato family and of course to Marco as well. Your continued friendship will always be held with highest regards, and we look forward to the opportunity to meet again.

In 2008 we were fortunate enough to attend the European Dog Show in Budapest, Hungary. While at the show we were exposed to some beautiful Cane Corsos and were able to meet breeders such as Stefano and Vicenzo of Valmorea, Denis Ali of della Valle degli Orsi Ali, Montse of Rothorm Jy Dream, Jo Lueck of Boleyn Cane Corso, and Sergio of di Fosso Corno to name a few. We were honored to have met so many good people and see so many awesome Cane Corso in one place. It was truly an amazing experience just being there.

While in Europe we were able to see some exceptional examples of the breed and we are forever thankful to our friends in Italy for allowing us to visit their beautiful homes and interact on a personal level with their remarkable Cane Corsos. We hope to continue our education on this beautiful breed by continuing to visit other kennels and attending shows. We also plan on keeping in touch and seeking the advice of our many friends throughout Europe and the United States .

Now that we are back in the U.S. we look forward to participating in conformation events and eventually some the working events as well. We consider ourselves a small home based kennel that is solely interested in the betterment of the breed. To date we have not produced a litter. We want to continue to learn as much as possible before having our first litter. When we feel the time is right, we will schedule a litter that we feel will improve our foundation and benefit the breed. We focus on health, temperament and breed type, each one being equally important to us. We do not and will not breed as a source of income, nor will we breed to meet the public's demand. If you are in a rush and looking for the first available Cane Corso, then we are not the kennel for you.

We also highly recommend that anyone interested in this unique and rare breed do their research first. There is an abundant amount of information out there that will greatly enhance your knowledge of the breed, thus enabling you to make an informed decision when selecting a breeder or puppy. We have included several links on our site that we feel can help you on your research.

If you would like any information on a planned litter from Casa del Sol Cane Corsos please feel free to contact us for availability.
